Circles

About the Circles

The women's organization is a means of providing all women of the church an opportunity for Christian growth through fellowship, study and service. All women in the South Frankfort congregation are invited to participate. Membership in the church is not a requirement.

How the Group Functions:

The umbrella organization is referred to a Presbyterian Women. There usually are one or two general meetings scheduled during the year for all women in the congregation who wish to attend. The Board and/or various committees determine major projects for the year. The Board, which is a decision-making group, consists of the elected officers, circle chairwomen, committee chairwomen, past presidents and may include liaison representatives from the Diaconate and Session or ecumenical groups such as Church Women United. Most of the work of the women's organization is done through small working units called circles.

Circles of Love and Action:

Circles usually consist of about ten to twenty women who meet monthly for ten months of the year using the designated Bible Study Book (2016-2017 Study Book). Circles support the goals of the total women's organization.  Neither being a member of South Frankfort Presbyterian Church nor attending general sessions of Presbyterian Women is a requirement for circle membership. Circles also provide an opportunity for getting acquainted with other women and serve as a support group.
