Sunday School Classes

The Children's Class (Pre-K through 3rd grade) is using the Spark Rotation Model for Sunday school. In this model children spend more than one week on a Bible story and visit a different workshop each week in order to experience the same story from a different perspective. The children will study Noah's Ark in October, Jonah and the Big Fish in November, and Advent and Christmas in December. Lead teachers/shepherds are Jennifer Grisham-Brown, Judy Turner, and Rachel Shaw. This class meets in the upstairs children's area.

The G.A.P. Class (God Answers Prayer), for 4th-6th graders, is using the Augsburg Fortress material: Witness - Learn from the Bible to Live the Good News. This class, which meets upstairs, is taught by Judy and Noel Jones, with help from their special friend "Gap."

The Young Teens (7th and  8th graders) are using texts from Genesis, Exodus, Joshua, Judges, Ruth, Samuel, David, Isaiah, and Luke as they study the Witness Sunday School material from Augsburg Press. Rob Moore and Mark Ritter teach this class which meets in the Young Teens room in the basement.

The High School class class is looking at cultural hot topics through the lens of our Christian faith and Presbyterian heritage. Topics, selected by the young people, have included marriage, divorce, bullying, and dating. This class, taught by Jason Shaw, meets in the basement.

For adults

The Counterpoints class, taught by Bill Kirkland, meets in the Conference Room. The class studies and discusses books of current theological interest, many with contrasting points of view, hence the name “Counterpoints.” Currently, the class is studying the informative book comparing Christianity, Judaism and Islam called What Do Our Neighbors Believe.  You can read a review on the Barnes & Noble website, but the book will be provided by church, so no need to buy a copy.

The Faith in Action class, taught by Tony Sholar, meets in Fellowship Hall.
Studying The Book of John for Everyone, by N. T. Wright. Come join the class, if you don’t have one of your own!
