SFPC volunteers have diligently worked beside others
in the community for local causes as well as providing financial support for
many; including the Access Soup Kitchen and Men's Shelter, the Sunshine Center,
Buckhorn Children’s Home, King’s Daughters Retirement Apartments, Habitat for
Humanity, the Kings Center, Simon House the Franklin County Women’s Shelter, Family Abuse Services Inc, and the Resource
Office for Social Ministries.
Beyond the local Frankfort area, representatives of
SFPC have participated in many mission trips including Hope for Tomorrow Guatemalan Children’s Home, Presbyterian Disaster
Assistance (PDA) projects, as well as Eastern Kentucky
mission projects.
The SFPC community also provides financial mission support
for the Presbytery, and maintains a close relationship with Amanda Craft PCUSA Mission Partner in El Paso, Texas, and Rivers of the World and Dr. Ben Mathes.
Perhaps the church’s greatest contribution lies
largely in the hearts and minds of its members, as they have sought through the
years to deepen their Christian faith through their service to their neighbors
both in Frankfort and in the world.
